Use Your Senses

Using your senses - touch, smell, taste, sight and hearing - is a great way to practice mindfully being present. This is a useful exercise for multiple aspects of life as well as it is for sexual health. .
.
When we are fully present, we are out of our heads and into our bodies. For a lot of people this can be very difficult and even frightening, especially if there has been trauma. .
.
By practicing to ground through our senses this can be a safer, more structured way to drop into our bodies. What do I smell? What do I hear? What do I taste? What do I see? What do I feel? .
.
Practicing to focus on one sense at a time can be fun sexual play. Blindfold your partner and feed them sensual treats, or focus on touch and use different items on their skin. If at any time it’s too much, stop. Respect your limits and have fun with your senses.
