Goal Oriented Sex is Less Satisfying

Goal oriented sex is exactly what it sounds like: sex with a set goal. “I must reach orgasm” “I must be the best lover” “If my partner doesn’t orgasm, I’ve failed” .
.
Sex is messy and fun and at times unpredictable. If you go in with a goal in mind it a) creates anxiety, typically performance anxiety, b) takes you out of the present moment, c) makes you feel like a failure if don’t meet your standards. Doesn’t sound like a lot of fun, does it? And for all these reasons, goal oriented sex isn’t as satisfying. .
.
Have fun, be present in the moment and pay attention to what is going on for your partner(s). Because after all, just because you are goal oriented - it doesn’t mean your partner is as well or even shares the same goal.
