Sexual Satisfaction Post-Childbirth

Recent studies have shown that perceived partner support and childbirth experience leads to increased sexual satisfaction post childbirth. .
.
While we can’t typically control your experience of childbirth - (many unpleasant things can occur: tearing, poor service by hospital staff, long labour, emergency c-sections etc) - we can make a difference in how we support our partners/how they support us! .
.
If you are the one giving birth - tell your partner how you’d like to be supported, communicate appreciation when they are doing a good job in that and tell them when it’s not working. If you are the one supporting your partner in child birth, show up! Be present! Try to anticipate needs, take an active role in caring for your child! .
.
Not only will both (or more) of you feel supported and part of a team but you’ll also lay the groundwork for better sexual satisfaction and intimacy when you’re able to get back to it again! Win/win!
