Music and Sexuality

Music and sexuality has often gone hand in hand. Though I’m sure many of us aren’t entirely sure why - here are some thoughts about that and why, if you don’t already have a sexual playlist, why you might want one.

Music is hypothesized to trigger three areas of the brain: the pleasure system, the one responsible for processing emotions and the one responsible for promoting bonding. .
.
A study done found that couples who listened to music out loud together reported having 67% more sex than couples who didn’t. This is hypothesized due to having the simultaneous release of oxytocin (the love hormone) in both partners while listening to music. This hormone is also attributed to trust building which will likely increase intimacy as well. .
.
Another survey done found that many people enjoyed music during sex for its rhythmic qualities. .

Do you have a sexual soundtrack? If so, what are your top picks?
